Back in 2014, with very little professional experience none of us had any idea what is a brand or how do you build a brand but we knew that brand names were unique and catchy. We started on that note.
We discussed several possible names around this for almost 3-4 days. We used to come up with a name, check on trademark website if a brand registry exists and if domain is available. If the answer was yes, it was shortlisted. The list went on increasing but none of the names were like yes this is it.
Tired of looking for names, we asked those around us for some suggestions. I asked my family members for suggestions and they started thinking. My sister-in-law Poonam asked me what exactly would the products be and why would they buy? I explained the concept and she uttered THINKPOT!I was like why? She said, “You come up with the best ideas when you’re on the pot and since you are making products that urge people to do more, do better and take that extra mile Thinkpot suits well!
Now we loved the name but we were sure since we loved it, it would be a brand already (that happened for most of our choices). But NO, it wasn’t! We bought the domain immediately and the next day we registered the brand name for trademark.
There’s a saying “What’s there in a name?” but when it comes to brands - Name Matters! That is the first foundation stone in a brands journey – BRAND NAME!
We formed our company “Benchmark Retail” as we were really obsessed with good names now. Thinkpot® is a Registered Trademark (Brand) owned by Benchmark Retail.
